The firestorm, spurred on by dry conditions and ferocious winds, is being called one of the most destructive to hit the Los Angeles metropolitan area in living memory, affecting the Hollywood Hills, as well as surrounding cities including Pacific Palisades, Malibu, Altadena, and Pasadena. Preliminary reports indicate that 11 people have died so far as a result of the fires, and nearly 200,000 people have evacuated their homes since they began. Officials report that more than 10,000 buildings have been destroyed, including entire neighborhoods of homes, along with schools and businesses.
This storm is a catastrophic natural disaster whose impact is likely to be felt by Los Angeles-area communities for weeks, months and even years to come. To support these communities in their time of need, Embrace Relief and Pacifica are preparing to deliver emergency aid through our California Wildfire Relief fund.
By donating to this fund, you can help Embrace Relief and Pacifica provide critical materials including food, water, winter blankets, clothing, shoes, and baby items to those who have been displaced from their homes by the fires.
Every dollar donated will make a critical difference for our friends in southern California. Donate today!
