One of the most powerful moments of our trip was watching a village celebrate the opening of a clean water well. What may seem like a simple borehole to us is a lifeline to them. It means no more hours spent walking for water. It means children can go to school instead of fetching water. It means fewer diseases, more dignity, and a renewed hope for the future.

We also met children who, with just a few dollars a month, could gain access to healthcare through a basic insurance plan. For many of them, this is the difference between life and death. For us, it’s a small gesture. For them, it’s everything.
