Please donate today to help us reach this momentous goal and give Turkish refugees in Greece the Big Refugee Welcome they deserve!

Every day, the refugee crisis occurring around the world becomes more and more dire. Thousands of refugees are seeking safety and asylum, specifically Turkish ones fleeing to Greece.

What is a Refugee, Exactly?

According to Webster Dictionary, the official refugee definition is a person who flees to a foreign country or power to escape danger or persecution. Indeed, these poor souls have no choice but to uproot their lives and relocate in hopes of finding a better life and future for themselves, their children, and their families. These refugees are in critical need of assistance and help to learn a completely new way of life in order to not only survive, but also thrive in their new country.

The State of Turkish Refugees in Greece

Right now, there are thousands of displaced families fleeing from Turkey to Greece. Upon arrival, they are put into refugee camps for a few weeks. After this, they are often displaced again with nowhere to go. The uncertainty they face regarding their and their family’s futures and the fact they don’t have a place to call “home” breaks their hearts, as it does ours. Together, with our partner Turkish American Society of Ohio-Columbus (TASO), Embrace Relief is calling upon those who have a humanitarian spirit to help provide emergency housing and the tools necessary for refugee resettlement.

What Does This All Entail, Exactly?

Due to incredibly gracious donors and volunteers like YOU, we will provide emergency housing, food, healthcare—as well as financial, psychological, and legal support—to those who need it most. We now also offer English courses to these Turkish refugees through our English Language Conversational Partnerships program. Many want to learn English because it’s a prominent language in Europe and around the world, just in case they want or have to migrate to a different country. Last year we succeeded in raising $10,000 to help these poor, vulnerable souls, and we are looking to raise $10,000 more this year! So, please donate today to help us reach this momentous goal and give Turkish refugees in Greece the Big Refugee Welcome they deserve!
