Today 103 million youth worldwide still lack basic literacy skills, and more than 60% of those are girls. One of the sustainable development goals of the UN is to ensure that, by 2030, all girls and boys complete free, equitable, and quality primary and secondary education.
In collaboration with local and international partners, Embrace Relief distributed educational supplies both in the United States and worldwide – from Haiti to Iraq and Afghanistan, to low-income neighborhoods in New Jersey, United States. Over 7,000 students have been given access to computer technology, 33,000+ books donated to schools and public libraries, and hundreds of school supplies have been donated. With educational assistance projects, Embrace Relief gave out thousands of dollars’ worth merit-based scholarships to college students in the US. On top of that, during the height of the Syrian refugee crisis, a refugee school educating 250 Syrian refugee children from 1st to 9th grade in Istanbul, Turkey was completely sponsored by Embrace Relief.
