Over 36,000 people have died and thousands more have been injured after a magnitude 7.8 earthquake rocked Turkey and Syria on Monday morning. The death toll continues to be updated as rescue attempts continue. The Turkish disaster agency appealed to the world community for assistance while undertaking rescue efforts.
