Year-End Resolutions: Make It a Great Year

For Both Yourself and Those in Need.

We all know what New Year’s Resolutions are. After all, many of us have had some at least at one point in our lives. However, this year there’s a new concept we here at Embrace Relief would like you to seriously consider: Year-End Resolutions.

How Year-End Resolutions Work

The great thing about Year-End Resolutions is they’re something you can do—right here, right now—before the year is officially over. And you can do something truly special, gracious, and selfless that has an impact, like contributing to one of Embrace Relief’s many humanitarian causes (listed below). And the best thing is—by doing so, you’ve officially made 2021 a great year. Not just for yourself, but people who need support but have nowhere and no one to turn to, because we provide them the tools and resources necessary to improve their lives. Happy Year-End!

YEMEN

Help provide food to people suffering from the world’s worst man made humanitarian crisis in the world in Yemen. For more than three years, Yemen has been embroiled in a civil war involving multiple factions and foreign powers. As a result,17.8 million people do not know where their next meal is coming from, 8.4 million people are considered at risk of starvation, and severe acute malnutrition is threatening the lives of almost 400,000 children under the age of five.

Since 2020 we’ve distributed over a thousand food packages to hungry people in Yemen, but there are still so many more who need help!

REFUGEES IN GREECE

Help provide food, shelter, rent assistance, legal and psychological support, schooling for children, and English-speaking courses for refugees who fled to Greece due to conflict in their own countries. So far, we’ve helped over 1.4 million refugees integrate themselves into their new country, but there are still so many more who need assistance!

CLEAN WATER

Help supply clean water to vulnerable people in sub-Saharan Africa who currently don’t have access to it. Clean water prevents death, improves quality of life, and reduces the extreme poverty in the area. To date we’ve constructed and refurbished 500 water wells, supplying 500,000 people with clean water on a regular basis, but there are still so many more people in need. You can have a water well in your name. Ask us how you can make a lasting impact!

RAISE THE CHILDREN

Help support 130 vulnerable children across three orphanages in Tanzania and The Democratic Republic of the Congo. This not only includes food, water, and shelter, but funds for their education and health insurance to protect against the many hazards of the region. To date, we’ve supported over 1,000 underprivileged children. Plus, in honor of International Day of the Girl this year, we distributed menstrual pads to 700 students—as well as teachers and staff members—of the secondary school Kawe Ukwamani in Tanzania. The poverty in the region makes it difficult for them to afford sanitary pads; hence, leading to menstrual-related infections, psychological embarrassment, and poor school performance among female students.

HUNGER RELIEF IN THE UNITED STATES

You can also aid Americans struggling to put food on the table, a problem drastically exacerbated by COVID-19 and leading to more people becoming homeless. Plus, this unfortunate situation is only bound to increase as colder weather continues to approach. In 2020, we distributed roughly 5,000 food packages to hungry families, but there are still so many more who need help! We also reached 320 families this past year in Orange, East Orange, Hackensack, and Montclair, New Jersey with our mobile market, Harvest Trolley. Harvest Trolley is a unique, brand-new venue invented by Embrace Relief in which we literally bring a “supermarket” directly to our beneficiaries.
