We are a chapter that consists of four high school student and an adult who are always looking for a way to help people. At the beginning of the semester we hadn’t had enough contact to access needy people. Fortunately, we were informed by one of Embrace Relief attendants in Brooklyn. And then we decided to start a water well project in Africa. This project brings us together periodically. A couple weeks ago we came together to discuss about our water well and we eventually found a name for it. We chose “Water for All” because we thought that people are suffering to have their necessaries in Africa while we can easily access. This is a brief summary of our story we hope our well will help all people who needs clean water.

Our friend Azer Aslanov was caught in rip current and drowned in Florida. Even though the water took his life away, we thought we will make the water give lives to others, and make Azer rest in peace!

As Muslims, every year we are required to fast during Ramadan in part to understand the pain that so many suffer everyday around the globe. After experiencing this pain it is impossible not to feel gratitude for the blessing of having unlimited clean, running water at our disposal everyday of the year. Alhamdullilah our family has never had to suffer the pain of thirst and hunger unwillingly, but since we understand this pain, we feel not only obligated as Muslims, but honored as humans to help our brothers and sisters across the globe to have the same access we do to fresh, clean water everyday. We hope this well will bring relief to many regardless of their religious affiliation. For these reasons, The Canlilar Family donates this water well in the name of Allah swt.
