Yemeni Children in village

Lend Your Helping Hand to Yemeni Orphans

Think of your cozy home, complete with air-conditioning, running water, a working refrigerator and functioning sewage system. Your hunger, your thirst, and nature’s call all go nearly unnoticed as you can deal with these in a matter of minutes. Now, imagine a life where you had none of these things. A life full of a constant grueling search for food and water. To some of us it may seem unimaginable. Unfortunately, there are thousands of innocent children in the country of Yemen who are living in exact such conditions. These children have been caught in the crossfire of a brutal civil war responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands, and are suffering from malnutrition, dehydration, and disease on a daily basis. We, as high school and middle school students of EPA(South Jersey and Pennsylvania) would like to send aid to these innocents in the form of food, water, medical supplies, toys, and other refurbishments. To do that, we need financial support from voluntary donors like you. Please consider chipping in and donating to Embrace Relief Foundation, a nonprofit humanitarian aid and disaster relief organization currently dealing with the crisis in Yemen. No amount is too little, and as Aesop said: “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.”

Water Wells Built in Africa: Cracking the Big 400

400 Water Wells Built in Africa

We’ve done it. With your help and countless donors’ and volunteers’, we’ve constructed a whopping total of 400 water wells in Chad and Cameroon, Africa, supplying clean, sanitary water to more than 400,000 people who were lacking it. This could not be more important because much of sub-Saharan Africa is suffering due to lack of access to clean water, which leads to all kinds of humanitarian issues.

The Impact of Lack of Clean Water in Africa

Because millions of Africans must collect unsafe water from lakes, rivers, and ponds on a daily basis, they’re constantly infecting themselves with waterborne illnesses that either result in death or make them too sick to work or pursue an education. Many of them also spend up to six hours a day obtaining this water, especially women and young girls, forcing them to face danger and extreme weather conditions. This daily practice also steals valuable time they could be using to work or pursue an education. The fact this vastly impacts women and young girls is particularly noteworthy because studies show females contributing to the workforce and pursuing education increases gender equality, which in turn leads to economic growth. Therefore, due to Africa’s lack of access to clean water, the vast majority of it is suffering greatly from poor health and extreme poverty.

Covid 19 Pandemic

The COVID-19 Pandemic: Pushing Past the Finish Line

The world is catching a glimpse of the light at the end of the tunnel for the tragic COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, the highly infectious disease is still wreaking havoc around the globe. Millions of people are still becoming infected, hundreds of thousands are still dying, and millions are still struggling financially and to find their next meal. Because of this, Embrace Relief has been a staunch supporter of those struggling since the pandemic’s onset, including hosting the online fundraiser Stronger Together in May 2020.

Stronger Together: A Critical Success
The fundraiser raised a staggering $103,000 that provided thousands of people with food and financial support and helped hospitals restock supplies. Although it was a critical success and Embrace Relief plans to host another one very soon, the fact remains the absolute best way to combat the pandemic and return to everyday life is to continue to follow the CDC guidelines. This includes critical daily practices like wearing a mask, staying at least six feet apart from others you don’t live with, sanitizing your hands often, and avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces. However, there is something else you can do to combat COVID, and it’s the most promising of all these strategies to finally defeat this horrific virus once and for all.
Get Vaccinated
As soon as you can, don’t hesitate to get vaccinated for COVID-19. The closer we are to developing herd immunity worldwide, the closer we are to finally pushing past the pandemic’s finish line and returning to normal life.

Please Donate Today
In the meantime, don’t hesitate to donate to Embrace Relief to continue helping people most in need, including those still struggling during the pandemic. Embrace Relief is a trustworthy bridge between donors and those who desperately need support. 90% of donations go directly to the chosen cause, the remaining 10% to necessary administrative costs. So, please consider donating today and helping make the world a safer, better place for us all!
