Crime prevention is an extremely important initiative within the United States that has revolved around emphasizing the importance of education. An increase in educational opportunities has been correlated to a decrease in violent crime. This paper presents the importance of providing children with educational opportunities in an effort to simultaneously lower the violent crime rate and ensure improved life outcomes.

High school students living in low-income areas often struggle to graduate and pursue a post-secondary education due to a lack of educational resources. Embrace Relief recognizes the importance of a quality education as higher education leads to more opportunities throughout life. This paper examines how Embrace Relief’s GradPlus program uses educational theory to help improve educational outcomes by providing essential resources including mentorships, tutoring, and post-secondary education preparation.

Within Passaic County, New Jersey, many students struggle to graduate high school and further their education. Embrace Relief acknowledges these alarmingly low graduation rates throughout Passaic County and emphasizes the importance of supporting students to complete their schooling. This paper presents a needs analysis for the Passaic County education system which reveals a significant need for additional assistance for the region’s students. Therefore, Embrace Relief’s GradPlus program, which gives students access to tutoring, mentoring, internships, scholarships, and skills workshops that help increase graduation rates, is detailed.

Sub-Saharan Africa has an increasing rate of poverty and providing quality education can help decrease this alarmingly high rate. Embrace Relief recognizes the importance of education as studies have proven increased education leads to economic progress. This paper describes Embrace Relief’s efforts to improve access to educational resources and decrease poverty rates in sub-Saharan Africa by providing 324 ICT computers to youth populations with limited access to technology.

Within today’s modern society, individuals need to have finished at least a secondary education to live above the national poverty line. There is a distinct connection between education and economic prosperity. This paper correlates the importance of providing education to children and how nonprofits, such as Embrace Relief, assist in providing quality education to encourage students to complete higher levels of education.

Within the United States, higher levels of education equates to less crime. Embrace Relief has noticed this trend and emphasizes the importance of quality education throughout the world. This paper presents Embrace Relief’s GradPlus program within the United States that assists students in graduating high school and furthering their education.

Over 70 percent of Tanzania’s population is living in poverty, which has resulted in a lack of educational and employment opportunities. Embrace Relief has taken action in Tanzania by teaming with up the Dogodogo Training Center to help combat poverty in various ways. Since Embrace Relief continuously conducts research with beneficiaries to ensure that the most optimal measures are being taken to combat poverty, this paper discusses the results of a questionnaire conducted with 42 beneficiaries. The consensus reached by the survey is the significant need for vocational training to create better outcomes.
