Stay Informed about the Coronavirus!

The Coronavirus Pandemic has put a stand-still on our normal lifestyles, with social distancing being encouraged to help curve the spread of the virus. As of 3/30/20, the United States leads the world in the number of cases, with New Jersey being #2 in the country with more than 16,600 confirmed cases. In this time of uncertainty, it is important to keep you and your loved ones safe and healthy.  To help protect yourself, the CDC recommends you do the following:
  • Wash your hands with soap & water for at least 20 seconds, especially after coughing, sneezing, blowing your nose or having been in a public place.
  • If soap & water are not available to you immediately, hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol is a good substitute.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose & mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people that are ill.
  • If the virus is spreading in your community, keep yourself at least 6 feet apart from others. This is especially important for those that are at higher risk of getting very sick.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily. This includes tables, light switches, doorknobs, desks, phones, toilets, keyboards, faucets, sinks and more.
If you are sick, take these steps to help protect others.
  • Stay home if you are sick unless medical care is needed.
  • Cover yourself with a tissue or your elbow if you sneeze or cough. Dispose of used tissues in the trash.
  • Immediately wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap & water. If not available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
  • Wear a mask when you are around other people and before you enter a healthcare provider’s office.
Call your doctor if you:
  • Have recently traveled from an infected area
  • Develop symptoms and have been in close contact with an infected person
