Digital Literacy for Sub-Saharan Africa

By June 19, 2019 No Comments

In today’s technologically-driven world, information and communication technologies (ICTs) are essential to education. They provide easy access to the totality of human knowledge, empowering innovative ideas and solutions for community development. In sub-Saharan Africa, accessing information instantly is virtually impossible – a serious hindrance to the expansion of education. An increased exposure to educational technology enhances the effectiveness of learning.

It is with this in mind that Embrace Relief delivered 324 computer system units to students in Tanzania and Uganda. However, the organization still needs to raise money to purchase keyboards, monitors and mice necessary to operate those systems effectively.

Considering that each set costs $70, the costs break down thus:

  1. Equipment for 168 units in Tanzania: $11,760
  2. Equipment for 156 units in Uganda: $10,920

Total: $22,680

By contributing to this campaign, you help prepare students in Tanzania and Uganda for the future.
