As our nation approaches its 250th anniversary on July 4, 2026, communities across the United States are pausing to reflect on what it truly means to be an American. Patriotism is often associated with grand gestures and historic moments, but we at Embrace Relief believe that the heart of America has always been shown through small, consistent acts of care for our neighbors.
That belief is at the core of Embrace Relief’s “Embrace 250” initiative: a series of service projects taking place throughout 2026 across all of Embrace Relief’s national and regional U.S. chapters. Embrace 250 is an official partner of America 250, the bipartisan 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created by the U.S. Congress to coordinate national celebration of this milestone year.
Each month, Embrace USA’s team is working to deliver positive impacts to our most vulnerable neighbors in recognition of the spirit of selflessness, service, and community that has defined America for two-and-a-half centuries.
Monthly initiatives include:
- January: 250 Winter Coats
- February: 250 Ramadan Food Packages
- March: 250 Health Kits for Women/Girls
- April: 250 Hot Meals for the Unhoused
- May: 250 Kits for New Moms
- June: 250 Eid Meat Packages
- July: 250 Sports Kits
- August: 250 School Backpacks
- September: 250 Care Packages for Seniors
- October: 250 Halloween Costumes
- November: 250 Thanksgiving Meals for Veterans
- December: 250 Holiday Toys for Children
But just because you may be separated by distance from a local Embrace Relief chapter doesn’t mean you can’t get involved!
That’s because at its foundation, Embrace 250 is about starting small. It’s about recognizing that meaningful change doesn’t require massive resources or perfect plans: a few hours of service, a modest collection drive, or a simple fundraiser can ripple outward in ways we may never fully see. When those small efforts are repeated month after month, community by community, they add up to something powerful.
That’s why Embrace Relief wants you! We’re inviting youth groups, faith communities, schools, sports teams, civic organizations, families, and workplaces to join our Embrace 250 initiative, no matter where you’re located.
Participation can look different for every group, depending on capacity and passion. Some may partner with local food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, or senior centers to volunteer their time and energy. Others may focus on collecting essential items, raising funds, or organizing awareness efforts tied to the monthly themes outlined above. Or, you may consider making a donation to the Embrace 250 campaign to support our work.
There is no minimum requirement to be part of Embrace 250 – only the intention to serve and support our neighbors. Embrace Relief’s monthly themes offer an opportunity to meet people where they are – from families facing food insecurity to seniors experiencing isolation; from veterans in need of support to mothers and children who deserve joy, dignity, and opportunity.
This is how we honor America’s legacy: by caring for our neighbors, strengthening our communities, and teaching the next generation that service is a civic responsibility. Whether you engage once or throughout the year, your contribution matters.
Start small. Take action. Serve locally. Together, across all 50 states, we can ensure that every act of kindness counts – and that the spirit of America is reflected not just in history books, but in how we care for one another today.
