2019 Albania Earthquake Disaster Relief

A deadly 6.4 magnitude earthquake hit Albania’s northwest coast on Tuesday, November 26th, 2019. At least 31 people have been confirmed dead, and hundreds of others were injured. Two thousand five hundred people have been displaced and are living in temporary, makeshift tents and shelters. While rescue workers are working non-stop to help find and save victims, their efforts are complicated by aftershocks that struck Wednesday. Penn State University State College Chapter

The Pennsylvania State University Embrace Relief chapter raised funds to send volunteer students from their university Haiti. During their time in Haiti, they completed electricity projects, brought donated school supplies, and sponsored a hot meal at a hotel for an orphanage.

Passaic Charter School Chapter

The Passaic Charter School Embrace Relief chapter in Passaic, NJ has had an ongoing chapter with ER for about three years. Paterson Charter School Chapter

The PCSST Embrace Relief chapter in Paterson, NJ has had an ongoing chapter with ER for about three years. Over their course of participation, they have raised funds to send volunteer students from their school to complete projects such as electricity generators, school supply donations, and the donation of bed frames and mattresses to orphanages.

Queens, NY Chapter

The chapter from Queens, NY raised funds to paint and restore the foundation of an orphanage in Haiti, which they also helped paint. They donated funds to build 2 restrooms and 2 showers for an orphanage, and they sponsored a meal at a hotel for another group of children. They spent a week in Haiti meeting the people, and exploring a new country and culture.  They have raised $15,000.
