At American Plumbing and Heating we love to give back to not only our community but to the world too. Mustafa the owner of the company was born in Turkey. He knows the struggles of everyday life that many people face each day around the world. He has seen these struggles first hand. Being the owner of a plumbing company Mustafa knows how important clean water is to everyone. Here at APH we work diligently on protecting the earth, that’s why we are actively green certified and may be the only certified actively green plumber in the world. The importance of working together to make a difference in the world is a gift that we must cherish. We chose the name The River Of Hope because sometimes all you need is a little hope and a splash of faith to know that no matter what someone is always there with a hand to hold, and we hope you’re there for us too. Let’s stand together and make the world a better place one hand at a time.

The Hanna Water Well

This well is constructed in honor of the ongoing work of Drs. Wahid Hanna and his wife Samia Hanna and each of the staff of Hanna Cancer Associates.

Dr. Hanna is a hematologist/oncologist practicing in Tennessee for more than 35 years. He has been the tool by which God has answered countless prayers for loved ones and family members throughout the region. His keen intellect combined with the genuine kindness shown to every patient makes him a unique treasure in the community.

Some of those whose lives he has touched wish to honor his ongoing work by providing this water well to people in need. It is our prayer that those drinking from this well will find the water as nourishing and refreshing as Dr. Hanna’s kindness and expertise have been to his patients.

A Welcome Sight

Prior to lapsing into darkness two years ago, Djoulde Sow and her husband herded cattle in a small village in Mali. In addition, they have a young son to care for. After she developed cataracts, she could no longer walk, wash or work alone. She could no longer see the faces of her son and husband. In short, life became intolerable.

Her condition is sadly common in Sub-Saharan Africa, where a host of environmental and man-made conditions, such as an absence of medical professionals, contribute to 6 million of the region’s inhabitants developing cataracts. This affliction is debilitating but entirely treatable.

Earlier this year, Djoulde left her village in search of a solution, one which Embrace Relief provided. By operating a mobile clinic to reach remote locations, the organization has conducted over 2,100 cataracts surgeries and 21,000 health screenings, restoring independence in addition to sight. Thus, Embrace Relief has aligned itself with the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being. With a simple procedure funded by Embrace Relief’s generous donors, Djoulde’s life became livable again. Additionally, she regained life’s greatest gifts: The sight of her family, employability and the opportunity for happiness.
