The World Hunger Crisis
During Ramadan, the global hunger crisis is particularly poignant. Fasting during Ramadan allows for self-reflection. Anyone who has fasted, even temporarily, knows how it affects the body and mind. This is daily life for millions worldwide. Hunger affects everyone in the US, sub-Saharan Africa, Greece, Yemen, and elsewhere.
Donate to Embrace Relief’s International Hunger Relief food distribution for Ramadan 2023! We’re ready to make a bigger impact after reaching over 260,000 in 2022!
Where can I donate?
Quick Donations For Ramadan
Hunger in Turkey
Long-term relief is needed for the survivors of the devastating earthquake that struck Turkey in February. With more than 2 million people displaced from their homes after the earthquake, the recovery process will be long and difficult. The people of Turkey will continue to need our support for months, and even years, to come.
During Ramadan 2023, join Embrace Relief in providing food packages to earthquake victims. Together, we can help ease their suffering and give people the stability they need to thrive again.
Hunger in the Africa
The number of people in Africa living with severe food insecurity is approximately 350 million – greater than the entire population of the United States. Generations of poverty, climate change, and conflict throughout the continent have created a hunger crisis.
During Ramadan 2022, Embrace Relief eased the hunger of more than 16,000 people across six African countries. Every donation makes a difference in someone’s life, so join us and help brighten the future for thousands of Africans.
Hunger in Yemen
The world’s worst humanitarian crisis continues in Yemen, thanks to ongoing conflict there. Millions of people have been displaced and lost their incomes over the last decade, and more than half the country’s population cannot afford food. Last Ramadan, we provided bread to 1,400 people every single day in Yemen, as well as food packages to an additional 600 families. Many Yemenis can survive only because of the generosity of donors like you, and humanitarian aid organizations like Embrace Relief.
Hunger in Greece
When someone becomes a refugee, the most difficult task they face is finding a way to provide their families with the basics of life while navigating an unfamiliar country. For the refugee community in Greece, Embrace Relief provided food packages and vouchers to more than 8,000 people during our Ramadan 2022 campaign. By donating for Ramadan 2023, you can give a refugee family the opportunity to rebuild their lives, free from hunger.
Hunger in the United States
Helping our neighbors is an important part of being human, and even in a country as wealthy as the United States, many of our neighbors are struggling and need your help. There are an estimated 38 million Americans who are food insecure, including 14 million children. Last Ramadan, Embrace Relief fed more than 2400 people in the U.S. Let’s work together to give our neighbors a helping hand!
