Bringing Digital Literacy to Sub-Saharan Africa

In Sub-Saharan Africa, very little of the population has access to computers or the internet, not to mention the wealth of information stored on both. Approximately 32.6 million primary-school-aged children and over 25.7 million adolescents do not, or are unable to attend school. Emerging technology and advances in infrastructure now offer low-cost teaching resources, providing greater inclusion and improved education quality. This fall, Embrace Relief is donating over 300 brand new computer processing units (CPU) that will be delivered to Tanzania and Uganda. Each computer will provide access to a world of knowledge for these children. Through support and contributions from donors, we were able to reach phase one of our goal to have the full units ready for Tanzania and Uganda by this fall. Bringing this technology and educational programs to these countries means further educating the world so we can all see and experience a brighter future. Our next step will entail a goal of distributing 1000 computers with the ICT system to schools in Sub-Saharan Africa, opening more doors to education.

Digital Literacy for Sub-Saharan Africa

In today’s technologically-driven world, information and communication technologies (ICTs) are essential to education. They provide easy access to the totality of human knowledge, empowering innovative ideas and solutions for community development. In sub-Saharan Africa, accessing information instantly is virtually impossible – a serious hindrance to the expansion of education. Increased exposure to educational technology enhances the effectiveness of learning.

Thanks to this campaign, 324 computers with the ICT system are planned on being distributed to students in Tanzania and Uganda in the fall. Our next step will entail a goal of distributing 1000 computers, providing even easier access to a world of knowledge.

By contributing to this campaign, you help prepare students in Tanzania and Uganda for the future.

The Refugee Crisis in Tanzania

Every year, millions of people are forced to flee from their homes due to war, political instability, economic decline, disease, and violence.  Embrace Relief helps those who are displaced by providing food packages, legal counseling, guidance through the asylum process, and rent assistance.   In Tanzania alone, there are over 318,000 people who have nowhere to call home.  While the country has long welcomed refugees, it does not have the capacity or resources to accommodate all those who are seeking refuge.  Unfortunately, many experience malnutrition and other deprivations. For the majority of these people the closest thing they currently know to safety are refugee camps where they are neglected and lack basic necessities. Embrace Relief goes beyond just collecting and sending money.  Our organization has many volunteers on the ground in Tanzania.  Over the course of three days this week alone, they will deliver 500 food packages, which will help an ever-expanding number of people.  With every passing day, more and more people hear about this help and flock to seek refuge in the arms of those who care. Through our multifaceted organizational system, Embrace Relief is able to provide physical, mental, and monetary support to those who need it most.  Embrace Relief assists in helping people rediscover hope in not only life but also other people. By no longer having to worry about where their next meal will come from or where they can lay their head at night, they can focus on healing and rebuilding their lives.

“Този проект е за хората от Чад”
Заради голямата отдалеченост от каквито и да било големи водни басейни Чад често е наричана „мъртвото сърце на Африка“. С население от около 13млн души, това е третата страна в света с най-ниския стандарт на живот и една от най-бедните. Средната продължителност на живота е 48,33 години. Главни проблеми са недостиг на храна, вода и медицински грижи.
За онези, които вярват и вършат праведни дела, ще има блаженство и прекрасно завръщане.
