Help Refugees Find Freedom

Today, and every day, my heart is heavy due to the refugee crisis that is happening around the world. Did you know that every day thousands of refugees seek asylum? Furthermore, hundreds of Turkish refugees are fleeing to Greece to seek safety and asylum. These refugees flee from violence, political, and ideological persecution.

Unfortunately, they are forced to uproot their lives and relocate in hopes to find a better life and future for their children. These refugees need assistance and help to learn a completely new way of life in order to not just survive but to also thrive.

I desperately want to help these people who do not feel accepted anywhere by raising a goal of $11,000. The thought of not having a place to call “home” breaks their hearts, as it does mine. I am passionate about saving lives and wish to raise $11,000 for the Turkish refugees through Group FUNdraising.

Due to gracious donors and volunteers, Embrace Relief is able to provide food, healthcare, shelter, financial, psychological, and legal support to those who need it most. Embrace Relief is also in the implementation phase of offering English courses to these Turkish refugees. Many want to learn English because it is a prominent language in Europe and around the world, just in case they want or have to migrate to a different country.

Boston Dialogue Foundation Group Fundraising

Every day, the refugee crisis happening around the world becomes more and more dire. Thousands of refugees are seeking asylum, specifically Turkish refugees fleeing to Greece to seek safety and refuge. These refugees flee from violence, war, political, and religious persecution. They have no choice but to uproot their lives and relocate in hopes of finding a better life and future for their children and family. These refugees are in critical need of assistance and help to learn a completely new way of life in order to not only survive, but to also thrive.

Right now, there are thousands of displaced families fleeing from Turkey to Greece. Upon arrival, they are put into refugee camps for a few weeks. After this, they are often displaced again with nowhere to go. The thought of not having a place to call “home” breaks their hearts, as it does ours. Together with our partner Boston Dialog Foundation and their volunteers in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, Embrace Relief is calling upon those who have a humanitarian spirit to help provide emergency housing. This housing is often temporary because the refugees flee to other European countries.

The number of displaced refugee families rises every single day and is expected to increase in the coming months. Refugees arrive in Greece with nothing and face the daunting task of finding a place to stay. Furthermore, available jobs are scarce and often impossible to come by, so it is difficult for families to save money or gain capital.

Due to the gracious donors and volunteers, we are able to provide emergency housing, food, healthcare, financial, psychological, and legal support to those who need it most. We now offer English courses to these Turkish refugees through our English Language Conversational Partnerships program. Many want to learn English because it is a prominent language in Europe and around the world, just in case they want or have to migrate to a different country.

InSight

Hello this is my cataract project named InSight!

I am a high school student from Irvine, California. I recently heard about the problem of cataract in Africa. I learned that many people in Africa face cataracts, which initially begin small, but over time result in complete blindness in the eye. Although a huge number of people are in need of getting a cataract surgery, they don’t have the financial support to do so. Learning about the issue, this platform gave me a huge opportunity to help contribute and give a new perspective to hundreds of people.

There are 600,000 Africans who experience blindness each year due to cataracts. Yet, of the entire African population, only about 0.0005% get cataract surgery.
We plan to fundraise $1,000, which will provide 10 cataract surgeries and 100 health checkups to people in need in Mali. Cataract surgeries only take 1 hour, but in that one hour the life of a person changes. In Mali, the cost of operation for one cataract surgery is about $130 USD per eye. The problem is, the average household income is less than $3 dollars per day and as such most patients who are in need of a treatment aren’t able to even get the most standard level of medical treatment necessary.

By choosing to invest InSight, you will be giving people with cataract a second chance at life. Your donations will be a new hope for them. Proper eyesight and vision are imperative to maintain an income in the modern world. Even a small donation of $5 is a big step for providing a new vision to a person.

Thankful Thursday: A Thanksgiving Food Drive

As we celebrate this year’s Thanksgiving, may we extend our deepest gratitude and thanks to each and every one of YOU, our great donors, who have always been there supporting us especially during one of the hardest times we have all ever experienced.

Thank you for being our donor, for supporting our cause, and for being our amazing neighbors! We wouldn’t be able to touch the lives of people in need without your help.

During this unprecedented time, the year of the great coronavirus pandemic, we believe that it is time to look after our neighbors in need. That is why we are starting a Thanksgiving campaign called Thankful Thursday: A Thanksgiving Food Drive. Let’s share food on our neighbor’s table during the season of giving by donating a food package so they too can enjoy this special occasion with their loved ones.

A food package will cost $50 each but we always believe that any amount can make a huge difference in someone’s life. We will be distributing these packages to families in need. So for this thanksgiving, let us build a longer table and not a higher fence!

Cameroon Mainani 11/2020 45m / 148ft 1300 people

Hello, my dear friends and family. Thank you so much for visiting my fundraising page to build a water well in Baby Kaya’s name. This water well will supply a community of 2,000 people with fresh flowing water every day with a guarantee on the well for 5 years (Before the 5 years end, the partners teach a member of the community how to conduct the annual inspection, where they can purchase the materials needed to fix it, and how to fix it.)

I ask that you please donate to build this water well instead of buying gifts or giving cash for Baby Kaya. Thank you for joining us in welcoming Baby Kaya to the world with a well that will serve people for years to come so that she will be able to help the lives in need who were not as lucky as her. This well will not only provide clean water but will also boost the economy, school attendance, sanitation and hygienic practices, and community development.
