Blanket Drive for Syrian Refugees

Embrace Relief, along with Counties of Loudoun and Fairfax, Town of Purceville and Northern Virginia Regional Commission, ATFA, MAFTA, Pinnacle Academy, organized a blanket drive for Syrian Refugees in Turkey. With the immense efforts of Chairman Scott York, Chairman Sharon Bulova, Mark Gibb of Northern Virginia Regional Commission and many others, we managed to collect over 15,500 blankets and $15,000.

Earthquake in Van, Turkey

Embrace Relief immediately started a campaign to help victims of earthquake in Van, Turkey. The Turkish-American community felt sad about the strong earthquake which struck eastern Turkey with a 7,2 magnitude in 2011.

Officials said that the earthquake killed 604 and injured 4152. At least 11,200 building sustained damage in the region, 6017 of which were found to be uninhabitable. The other 5200 have been damaged but are habitable. Embrace Relief distributed food, clothing and blankets to the victims of the earthquake. Volunteers from Embrace Relief set up tent as temporary housing for victims that lost their homes. Also, Embrace Relief is building a dormitory in Van.

Earthquake in Haiti

Embrace Relief sent 119 volunteers to help the victims of earthquake in Haiti. Embrace Relief was the first organization to distribute food after earthquake. Volunteers distributed hot meals to 1000 people each 30 days. The volunteers also distributed tents, tents, blankets and clothes. Because many people were left homeless, volunteers set up tent as housing. 15 doctors attended this vital campaign and gave medical help to the injured.

Hospital

Embrace relief strongly believes that the impact moment is the time when the help is most needed. In order to help people in need for a long duration of time, futuristic projects should be brought to life. Therefore, embrace relief and Kimse Yok Mu are building a medical clinic in Port-au-Prince, the Capital city of Haiti. The clinic is planned to be operation in 2014.

Food Donation

In 2013, Embrace Relief has distributed more 42,000 lbs of food in Haiti.

School Supplies

Embrace Relief donated school supplies to 350 orphans in Haiti on December 15, 2013. The supplies contained everything the students needed. The HAC compound Croix des Bouquets currently provides education to these orphan students. Our volunteers delivered the supplies to the school and planned activities for the students.

Water Well

Embrace Relief initiated  “Water Wells” campaign to ease the difficulty of obtaining drinking water in Haiti. We started the water wells campaign in May 2013.

Help The Elderly

Embrace Relief encourages its volunteers to help the elderly. Visit them. Cook for them. Make them an emergency storm pack. Read for them. Call them. Plant flowers for them. Bake them a birthday cake. Go on a walk with them. Help them with their small house repairs.

Embrace relief has been continuing these efforts since 2008, solely with the support of its volunteers. We cannot express our thanks for the wholehearted efforts of our volunteers in their activities as they tried their best to help and care for the senior citizens in their neighborhoods.

2013 USA Food Drives

Poverty is one of the biggest problems in America. There are more than 300,000 people living in property. To help solve this problem we have organized food drives; collected and distributed canned food. Embrace Relief has distributed more than 30,000 Lbs of food in 2012 and more than 60,000 Lbs in 2013. We plan to collect and distribute 10,000 Lbs of food in 2014 through food drives. However we are working to provide a more permanent solution to this problem. Embrace Relief has decided to start opening food pantries in cities that have high levels of poverty.

Arizona Firefighters

19 elite firefighters were killed in a wildlife were killed in a wildlife fire on June 30, 2013. The fire claimed more lives than any other disases since 9/11. The fire consumed more than 8,000 acres of forest and wildlife. Embrace Relief donated 2000 dollars to the United Phoenix Fire Fighters Association who will help the families of the firefighters. 400 Food Packages to Refugee Families

Embrace Relief distributed food packages to refugee families from Myanmar and Somalia in Upstate New York. Volunteers from Embrace Relief and Turkish Cultural Center distributed food packages to 400 families in Buffalo, Rochester, and Utica on June 15,2013. The packages included rice, pasta, canned food, cooking oil, coffee, and other items that the families needed.
