A New Start for Amani Orphanage

It is a sad and somber truth that everyday, millions of orphans are left to fend for themselves against the cruel madness of this world.  They must fight daily to find food, water, and shelter.  This endless struggle can seem overwhelming and convince them to believe that no one will ever care for them, or see them for who they really are: A child who just wants to play, laugh, and be loved. 

Fortunately, the Amani Children’s Home located in Moshi, Tanzania, is a safe haven where they will be welcomed with open arms and a genuine smile.  Amani Orphanage has been in service since 2001 and has housed hundreds of children with a warm and safe place to sleep at night.  Although, after many years of wear and tear, it needed some tender love and care.

Thanks to the gracious donations and our partnerships with Time to Help Foundation: Tanzania and CORE Educational Services, we have been able to complete construction on a totally renovated children’s home.  From June 15th to August 15th, people have worked tirelessly to make this a possibility.  Now bright and shining once again, Amani Children’s Home can continue their work by providing vulnerable orphans with food, water, safe shelter, and a formal education.  When a child walks through their doors, they know they will be well-taken care of and will be safe because they know they are with people who care about them.  This new and improved orphanage will help these children become independent and self-sufficient young adults.  Having had a rough start to their childhood, they will end it with comfort and confidence knowing that they have been provided the tools to take on the next chapter of their life.  Although we have collected many donations, there is still work to be done.  With continued support, Amani Children’s Home will be able to function at full efficiency and will continue to change the life of every child who walks through their doors.  Please help these children grow into confident, independent adults by making a donation. Childhood is a time to be happy, carefree, hopeful, and excited about life.  Unfortunately, there are over 52 million orphans in Africa alone, with this number increasing everyday.  Kenya, Tanzania, and Nigeria are home to more than 4.3 million of these orphans, who account for one of the world’s most vulnerable populations. Having to fend for themselves, they face the daily struggle of locating food, water, and shelter.  Furthermore, they are forced to live with this instability and fear every single day.   Wanting nothing more than to play, laugh, grow, and learn, these orphans rarely get the opportunity to experience such a childhood.  But, this can be changed. Luckily, there is still hope for these orphans who feel like they have been forgotten.  Through our Sponsorship Program, you can sponsor a child and change their life today.  This will supply a child with food, water, shelter and education. Turkish Refugees Fundraiser

Today, and every day, our hearts are heavy due to the refugee crisis that is happening around the world.  Did you know that every day thousands of refugees seeking asylum?  Furthermore, hundreds of Turkish refugees are fleeing to Greece to seek safety and asylum. These refugees flee from violence, political, and ideological persecution. 

Unfortunately, they are forced to uproot their lives and relocate in hopes to find a better life and future for their children. These refugees need assistance and help to learn a completely new way of life in order to not just survive but to also thrive. 

Right now, there is a group of Turkish women who desperately want to help these people who do not feel accepted anywhere. The thought of not having a place to call “home” breaks their hearts, as it does ours.  These women are passionate about saving lives and wish to raise money for the Turkish refugees through Embrace Relief’s campaigns.

Due to gracious donors and volunteers, Embrace Relief is able to provide food, healthcare, shelter, financial, psychological, and legal support to those who need it most.  Embrace Relief is also in the implementation phase of offering English courses to these Turkish refugees.  Many want to learn English because it is a prominent language in Europe and around the world, just in case they want or have to migrate to a different country.

If there is one thing in this world that is true, it is that everyone loves food.  Unfortunately, not everyone has the opportunity, resources, or ability to access even one meal a day.  Everyday, millions of people suffer from malnutrition which causes chronic hunger, disease, and even death. One of the most important sources of food is protein from meat.  This protein contributes to a long and healthy life, which many people around the world do not get to experience.  There are people in places such as Africa, Greece, Yemen, and even the United States, who are denied the chance at a prosperous life.  But, not all hope is lost. As it does every year, Embrace Relief is raising funds for International Hunger Relief to distribute Qurban meat to those who need it most. Bringing Digital Literacy to Sub-Saharan Africa

In Sub-Saharan Africa, very little of the population has access to computers or the internet, not to mention the wealth of information stored on both. Approximately 32.6 million primary-school-aged children and over 25.7 million adolescents do not, or are unable to attend school. Emerging technology and advances in infrastructure now offer low-cost teaching resources, providing greater inclusion and improved education quality. This fall, Embrace Relief is donating over 300 brand new computer processing units (CPU) that will be delivered to Tanzania and Uganda. Each computer will provide access to a world of knowledge for these children. Through support and contributions from donors, we were able to reach phase one of our goal to have the full units ready for Tanzania and Uganda by this fall. Bringing this technology and educational programs to these countries means further educating the world so we can all see and experience a brighter future. Our next step will entail a goal of distributing 1000 computers with the ICT system to schools in Sub-Saharan Africa, opening more doors to education.

In today’s technologically-driven world, information and communication technologies (ICTs) are essential to education. They provide easy access to the totality of human knowledge, empowering innovative ideas and solutions for community development. In sub-Saharan Africa, accessing information instantly is virtually impossible – a serious hindrance to the expansion of education. Increased exposure to educational technology enhances the effectiveness of learning.

Thanks to this campaign, 324 computers with the ICT system are planned on being distributed to students in Tanzania and Uganda in the fall. Our next step will entail a goal of distributing 1000 computers, providing even easier access to a world of knowledge.
