Hunger Relief

TASO Dayton Hunger Relief

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, unemployment has soared, and food insecurity is on the rise. 42 million people may face hunger in the U.S. — including more than 13 million children. Hunger knows no boundaries — it touches every community in the U.S. Every community in the country is home to families who struggle with food insecurity including rural and suburban communities.
Many households that experience food insecurity do not qualify for federal nutrition programs and need to rely on their local food banks and other hunger relief organizations for support.

The Spirit of Giving: What does it Encompass?

What is the spirit of giving, exactly? Where does it come from? And why is it so important?
These are questions we here at Embrace Relief always ask ourselves—and we always answer them. It’s why we do what we do, after all.

It may not necessarily seem like it, but at its root, the act of giving is an act of love. It’s a way of showing affection and appreciation for another person in our life. It’s why we give each other birthday gifts, holiday gifts, even random I-appreciate-your-friendship gifts.

The Beauty of Giving

The exciting thing about the spirit of giving is that it doesn’t necessarily encompass only those closest to us. It can stretch beyond that and encompass people we don’t know very well or even total strangers because it entails a kinship with our fellow humans. With all of us it involves understanding we’re all on this miraculous journey called life together and that, really, truly, deep down, we are all very much the same. Despite any minute differences in physical make-up or geographical origins, we all require basic needs like food, water, and shelter and more higher-level ones like love, belonging, and self-actualization.

So, those who give to both their loved ones and total strangers understand this essential life truth and, therefore, have love in their hearts for their fellow man.

The Reality of Why Giving is Important

Now, while the spirit of giving is a beautiful, pure, and selfless thing, unfortunately, many people in this world are struggling for many reasons. For example, millions have difficulty finding their next meal due to a natural disaster, the impact of Covid-19, fleeing their countries due to conflict with nothing but the shirts on their backs, among other tragedies.

And these tragedies prove why the spirit of giving is so important. And the reason is: Because we need to help each other. We’re all in this together, and we all need the same things, so we should be kind to one another and help each other survive, learn, and grow, especially those who currently need it most.

And that’s what Embrace Relief does—aids those who need it most. And that’s what you do, too, when you donate to us. We simply could not be more grateful for you, our donors, who make it all possible. Without you, the spirit of giving wouldn’t be alive and well, and neither would so many of our beloved fellow humans who desperately need a helping hand. Thank you for all that you do, and please continue to help us make the world a better place for us all.

Embrace Relief Cataract

Brooklyn Amity School Cataract Surgery Fundraiser

A cataract is a progressive disease of the eye or eyes that causes severe blurry or discolored vision which can lead to complete blindness if not treated properly. One of the main goals of our fundraiser is to involve our students in community service, help them be aware of the struggles of some communities around the world and here in the U.S., and to use this organization as a part of a project in our school club. We want to sponsor 50 cataract surgeries and help people in Mali, Africa to have their sight back. Help us reach our goal by donating to our FUNdraiser!

Sisters Mag

As a community we feel that it is important to feed the hungry, therefore, we decided to start with a fundraiser to raise money for hunger relief (Kurban). We would like to honor Bediuzzaman by donating nafile Kurban in his name. Please join us by taking a part in this good deed by contributing any amount you see fit.  Thank you to all those who contribute.

ROSE GARDEN ACADEMY WATER WELL

As Rose Garden Academy, we believe in that all people have a right to have clean water. This project is our preschool student’s project. The students bring their small charity boxes to school every Friday and, they donate their money for people who need clean water.

A single drop makes a small, seemingly insignificant, impact. But when it hits the surface, tiny ripples form. Slowly, these ripples grow bigger and the whole surface begins to change.
